Qamishlo (West Kurdistan) – Ebdul Khaliq Hesen from Alenteriya district, a member of the People’s Committees of the PYD (Democratic Union Party) was arrested and taken to court in Qamishlo, Rojava Kurdistan (Syrian occupied Kurdistan) yesterday the 26.04.2012. A crowd of PYD members and supporters gathered outside the court to protest and demanding his release shouting slogans and refusing to leave. According to reports from Kurdish activists one police was injured and three Kurds arrested but later released.Assad’s security forces and thugs set upon them with gas and firing live rounds to disperse the crowds of protesters who had taken over the area. ANF reports that in response to these attacks 3 security forces from Amude and Qamishlo were taken hostage. Ebdul Khaliq Hesen is still held in custody.Watch the videos:

Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre: Summary (25/04/2012): At least 75 martyrs have fallen today, most of them in the latest massacre in Hama. A missile strike destroyed 15 homes in Masha’a al-Tayar district – the number of reported victims is currently 54 including 13 kids and 16 women. Activists have decided to stop cooperating with the UN observers because their visits have only been bringing more death to the areas they visit. Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre: Summary (24/04/2012): 32 martyrs have fallen today, mostly in Homs and Damascus Countryside despite the presence of the UN observers. There are reports that 9 activists have been killed by Assad’s forces after they talked to the UN team, while hundreds of families have fled Arba’in district in Hama fearing more shelling. Hunger Strike in Strasbourg ends after 52 days
The 15 Kurdish activists in Strasbourg have ended their hunger strike action today on the 52nd day. At a press conference they declared, that the action has broken a wall of silence. The hunger strikers are also convinced that their demands have been taken seriously by the relevant institutions, and that practical measures will be taken.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The death toll of people killed today in Hama has risen to 28 martyrs for whom the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has records. They were killed during the shelling of the neighbourhood of Mashaa Al-Arba’ein in Hama. Also, they are 5 unidentified bodies because of the burning.

- 6 people killed in Homs: 3 people killed in gunfire when the Syrian regular forces raided the farms surrounding the town of Talbeesa, and 3 people killed by the security forces in Al-Ghouta, Al-Khaledia and Al-Bayaada.
- 3 people killed in Idlib in gunfire by the regular forces in the village of Al-Rami.
- 3 people killed in Daraa: 2 people killed under torture in detention and a child died from injuries sustained on Saturday.
- One person died in the city of Al-Bab in Aleppo from injuries sustained injuries.
- 3 people killed in Rif Dimashq Governorate: 2 people killed in random gunfire and by snipers’ bullets in the city of Douma and one person killed in the village of Hatetet Al-Turkman in a shooting by a security barrier.
A defector was killed in the town of Yabrud in Rif Dimashq Governorate. Also, 6 members of the Syrian regular forces were killed on Sunday: 4 members killed during the explosion of a device inside an armoured personnel carrier in the city of Douma in Rif Dimashq, one security member killed when a patrol was targeted in the city of Baniyas and a soldier killed during the targeting of a vehicle on Aleppo/Ar-Raqqah Motorway.
