The UN Security Council is meeting now to bargain with Syrian blood yet again. Meanwhile people have been massacred in Aleppo, Nawa (Daraa), Hama, Homs, Assal al-Ward and the eastern suburbs of Damascus. Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre: SUMMARY (26/01/2012): More than 60 martyrs across Syria today – including 9 women and 8 children. The most martyrs – at least 37 – fell in Homs where many neighbourhoods continue to be heavily shelled. It was also a bloody day in Hama, where at least 17 bodies have been dumped on the street – most of them unidentified. Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre: SUMMARY (25/01/2012): At least 22 martyrs have fallen today – including 4 defected soldiers, 2 women and a 5 year old child. A Roman Orthodox priest, Father Basilius Nasser, was killed in Hama, and Dr. Abdul Razzaq Jbeiro, the head of the Red Crescent in Idlib, was killed while returning from a meeting in Damascus. This video shows aid that has been sent by the people of Suwayda province in the south to the people of Khattab in Hama province, central Syria – expressing the unity of the Syrian people, regardless of sect. Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre: SUMMARY (24/01/2012): Another bloody day in Syria – at least 60 martyrs with more than 40 dead in the central city of Homs where there was heavy shelling of several residential areas. FM Muallem rejected the Arab League’s proposals and talked about “half the universe” now conspiring against Syria, as the Gulf states withdrew their observers from the Arab League mission. Meanwhile, there were some reports about the new constitution being drafted by one of the 1001 committees Assad has set up. Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre: Summary (22/01/2012): 22 martyrs have fallen today, 15 of them in Damascus Countryside, where there have been more clashes in the suburbs of Duma and Kafar Batna, as well as attacks on the small town of Rankous, north of Damascus. The Arab League has repeated the conditions of their peace plan, extended the observer mission and called (among other demands) for Assad to take steps to form a unity government within 2 months, with both presidential and parliamentary elections to take place after that. Iran: Kurdish activists sentenced to death

Two Kurdish activists has been sentenced to death by the Iranian courts for ‘waging enmity against God’ through ‘propaganda activities’ and ‘membership in a dissident group’ according to the Mokerian News Agency.

Ali and Habib Afshari were arrested last year, and are currently imprisoned at Oroumiyah Prison. Ali Afshari was arrested on December 2010, and shot during the arrest. According to Iran Human Rights, both of his hands were paralysed consequently.

Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre: SUMMARY (19/01/2012): Today, at least 25 martyrs fell (21 civilians, 4 military) – through shelling, shootings, torture and executions. Following yesterday’s ceasefire in Zabadani, today the regime halted it’s attack on Kafar Takharim in Idlib province and both towns are currently under the control of the Free Syrian Army. In Hama defecting soldiers killed Brigadier General Adel al-Mustafa, who was one of those responsible for ordering the killing of protesters in the city. The Arab League observers have continued to “verify” the regime’s lack of compliance despite today marking the end of their initial mandate. Since the observers started work 1 month ago at least 700 martyrs have fallen (Avaaz says 746).
