Another Syrian-Kurdish recruit dead
The family of the recruit Sadik Hossein Mousa born October 12th, 2009 was informed about the death of their son according to the Syrian Human Rights Organization MAF. Sadik Hossein Mousa was completing his military service in the Syrian army. The Syrian authorities declared that the recruit died in a traffic accident outside of the military service.
In the meantime three other persons died during military service. On October 11th, 2009 the relatives of Sohnes Rizan Abduhl Al Karim Mirana born in the Village of Telyona in the district Direk/Alhasak were informed about his death. The Syrian authorities also here declared that the recruit died in a traffic accident. The recruits Firas Badri Habib born 1988 in Bulbil in the district of Afrin had suffered the same fate according to the Syrian authorities. Firas Badri Habib died during military service on September 9th 2009. On Septembner 30th, 2009 the recruit Suliman Ahmad Faruk Diko born in the Village of Kassem in the Rajo district during his military service in the Syrian army. His dead body was handed over to his family. A relative informed MAF that the authorities declared that the Suliman Ahmad Faruk Diko died of a heart attack during training time.
The death accidents of Kurds during military service in the Syrian army amount to 30 persons.
Many human rights organisations are concerned about the grown number of young Kurdish recruits dying during military service. The responsible Syrian authorities are covering the true cause of death. Their typical explanations are suicide, cause of accident or death by misbehaviour.
Investigations to find out about the real causes of death and to sue the responsible persons haven’t been held until now.
Kurdish Family disappears after deportation from Germany to Syria
The Syrian human rights organisation MAF reported about the deportation to Syria of a Kurdish family (Mother Schaicha Jindo and her four children Fatima, Ased, Walid, and Imad) by a German authority on September 8th, 2009. The family applied for political asylum. The family was arrested
and deported from Frankfurt am Main to Syria on the same day. The family disappeared since its deporation. Relatives and other family members do also not know about their whereabouts.
According to MAF two of the family members were not present during the arrestment night. The brothers Hasan and Hussein are on the run in Germany fearing the same fate as their other family members.
Dissolving of a Kurdish wedding party
The Kurdish Human rights organisation (DAD) reported in a press release that a patrol to fight crimes of the Syrian security forces dissolved a Kurdish wedding party in the district of Dyrek/Alhasaka on October 3rd, 2009. Members of the music band and the brother of the groom were arrested. They are accused of singing Kurdish nationalist songs. Those arrested were deported to the City of Qamishlo where they were beaten and tortured.
Two Kurds sentenced to 6 months prison
The Kurd Mohammed Sayf Aldin Alkhdo born 1896 in the village of Aldurbasiye and Nader son of Nawaf Khalil born 1981 in the same village were sentenced to six months of prison and 100 Syrian pound by a Syrian military individual judge. The two Kurds were accused of being member
of a forbidden political organization with the goal of ethnical and regional arson. The accused were sentenced according to articles 288 and 307 of the Syrian. The two persons had been arrested before once. Hence they were accused of distributing and attaching flyers calling for the Kurdish
matter and inviting people to becoming members of the Zeylan group, which belongs to the Kurdish party PYD.
Kurdish student arrested of possessing a poem in Kurdish language
The Kurdish student Walat Ayub was arrested on his way to University at the main station of the city of Dyrik during a police check on September 28th, 2009. The station police found a poem in Kurdish language in his luggage when checking him and handed him over to the political security
forces of the City of Al Hasaka. Two days later a patrol stormed the house of his Brother Salah and also arrested him. The two brothers are in arrested and now in the national security department of the City of Al Hasaka.
The fate of the Kurd Bahjat Ibrahim still unknown
A patrol of the security forces of the city Amuda arrested Mr. Bahjat Ibrahim born 1951 und know under the name Bave Schno on October 20th, 2009. Mr. Ibrahim is married and has 6 children he is known of being interested in general knowledge and in the current situation of the country.
Kurdish politician Ibrahim Biro sentenced to 8 months prison. The military judge of the City of Qamishlo has passed the judgement against the politician Mr. Ibrahim Biro. He was sentenced to 8 months prison according to article 288 of the criminal law. Syrian security forces arrested Mr. Biro on October 29th, 2009.
Also the Kurdish teenager Keyfkhschin Yasin son of Adnan was sentenced to 3 months prison and
100 Syrian pounds by the military judge of the city of Qamishlo. He was accused of having caused
ethnical and religious trouble and of possessing a medal looking like a Kurdish flag.
Three Kurdish Musician brought to military court. Political security forces of the City of Dyrik in North Syria brought the three musicians Nihad
Mahmud, Djwar Munir Maruf and Juan Munir Maruf to military court. The three musicians were arrested at a Kurdish wedding party in a city club for parties in the beginning of October this year. They sang Kurdish national songs. The musician Jamal Sadun still is in prison in the department of the political security forces in the city of Al Hasaka. No information is known about his arrestment.
Arrestment of the activist Menal Ibrahim and the teenager Rojhat Subhy
A Syrian human rights organisation reported that a patrol of a political state security forces stormed the house of a Kurdish citizen in the Alashrafye district, where mainly Kurds live. They arrested Mrs. Manal Ibrahim, member of the woman’s organisation gUnion Setar h, which belongs to the democratic single party. Manal Ibrahim is a Kurd from the City of Qamishlo.
Also the teenager Rojaht born 1992 was arrested. The teenager was born in the village of Ramadan, which belongs to the district of Afrin. To mention is that no warrant or court decision against Rojhat existed.
