Human rights activist and lawyer Radif Mustafa is prevented from traveling outside Syria

Human rights organizations in Syria condemn the long-term decision by the Government that has prevented the Chair of the Kurdish Committee for Human Rights in Syria al-Rased, and co-ordinator of the Syrian Coalition Against the Death Penalty – Radif Mustafa – from travelling outside the country. There has been no explanation for this decision. He was recently prevented from attending the international Fourth World Conference Against the Death Penalty, which was being held in Geneva between 24 February to February 26, 2010.
